Many Dahn Yoga instructors are known as beacons of guidance, strength and enlightenment, helping countless individuals reforge their mind-body connections through deep breathing techniques and gentle poses. Through kind, patient teaching, these leaders have revealed the benefits of yoga to people all over the world, in addition to giving back to their communities.

Recently, Dahn Yoga and Health Centers praised 74-year-old Marion Goddard, a New York resident who has been teaching Dahn Yoga for many years.

Goddard said that she had been an introvert before discovering the holistic mind-body system. Individuals with this type of personality are often shy and find it difficult to connect to others.

After discovering Dahn Yoga, however, Goddard developed the energy and confidence she needed to help others who were struggling with the same challenges. She has taught outreach classes and recorded a hospital-sponsored DVD for the program, in addition to leading meditation walking groups and writing articles for local newsletters.

Teaching "is so meaningful because it helps you grow when you actively reach outside of your own social group and connect with diverse people," Goddard said.
