Millions of people all over the world have found yoga to be an effective method of stress management. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing to perform the deep breathing techniques and rejuvenating stretches of the holistic mind-body regimen have enabled countless people to improve their health.

There are a wealth of different varieties of yoga in existence, though each form includes basic exercises such as gentle poses. According to the Chronicle Herald, one class in Halifax, Nova Scotia, employs ropes to help enthusiasts better find their center.

Yoga practitioners perform stretches while airborne, suspended on secure ropes and cloths that dangle from the ceiling. The technique is designed to optimize the toning and strengthening qualities of the exercises.

"It was really fun, playful," said one student, quoted by the news source. "It kind of takes you back to the days when you were on the playground, you know, on the monkey bars hanging upside down. And your body's getting exercise at the same time."

According to Emmanuella Symeonaki, a 40-year-old who was recently introduced to the program, engaging in yoga helps bring "a little bit of the extraordinary, a little bit of magic into your life."
