Anastasia, an inspirational animated movie

For dahn yoga participants interested in life balance and looking for a leisurely, carefree, but inspirational movie after a hard day's work, there is a fun family movie called Anastasia which could provide a few hours' worth of entertainment in animated form. One can watch a dahn yoga DVD followed by a movie such as Anastasia.

Anastasia is based on the real-life events of 1916 Russia, when the royal family was turned out and murdered by the Bolsheviks. Princess Anastasia's body was not confirmed for a long time, fueling rumors that she managed to escape.

The Fox Animation Studios version of the story includes fanciful characters and strange talking animals. It also has a inspirational story-line about a girl looking for her own identity and place in the world.

With beautiful animation and fun sing-a-long songs, Anastasia could prove to be a carefree family movie with a hint of history. As the character of Anastasia travels through Russia to find her grandmother, she encounters Dimitri, a handsome young man, who forms the other half of your standard animated love story.

The movie 12 Angry Men is a legal thriller and moral inspiration

Although multiple versions have been made of the movie "12 Angry Men," the 1957 black and white version starring Henry Fonda and directed by Sidney Lumet remains the most celebrated. This legal thriller is an inspiration to all those hoping for the law to yield the most just verdict and dahn yoga participants will likely enjoy this story of personal growths and inspiration.

Twelve men are sitting in the deliberation room as the jury members of a case involving a poor teenage boy accused of killing his own father. Depending on their vote, the boy would be put to death if found guilty.

Only one juror – played by Henry Fonda – initially dissents and believes that the boy is not necessarily guilty. All 11 of the other jurors vote for a guilty verdict.

Slowly, Fonda's character promotes the discussion and the deliberation of the details surrounding the case. One by one, the other jurors are swayed towards looking at the evidence in a different light. In the process, much is revealed about the personal motivations and prejudices of each individual judge. The story is now a classic inspirational film about the power of critical thinking and the courage to pursue what one believes to be the right cause – in this case, true justice.

The Lives of Others is a movie set in the mid-1980s in Germany and speaks to the political separation within the country at the time. It is also a love story at its center as well as an homage to the power of compassion through knowledge. Dahn yoga participants will undoubtedly feel inspired by this film that sees a central dilemma resolved in a most tragic yet morally fulfilling way. Georg Dreyman – played by Sebastian Koch – is a German playwright living in the German Democratic Republic of East Germany, under the control of the Stasi. He and his actress girlfriend, Christa-Maria, are being surveyed secretly by the police. Officials have bugged their phones and the apartment in which they live, because the Stasi suspect that Dreyman – who claims that he is a Communist – may be loyal to the politics of West Germany.

As the policeman, Hauptmann Gerd Wiesler, keeps track of the lives of Dreyman and Christa-Maria, he learns more and more about their humanity, their personal dilemmas as well as their secrets. Wiesler must ultimately decide whether or not to turn the playwright and actress into the secret police, given the evidence that he has amassed.

The story is beautiful, not only in its soundtrack and screenplay, but in acting and directing. It won the 2007 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
