Puerto Montt offers a picturesque panorama

Natural landscapes are often the best scenery to be surrounded by when practicing meditative techniques, as there are no extraneous forces attempting to distract one's attention from their personal growth. Those who are considering a vacation in South America in the future should head to Chile, where Puerto Montt's Lake District offers a beautiful panorama of mountainous terrain.

The mountains that dominate the skyline of Puerto Montt stand strong, but are far from imposing. They add an air of majesty to the peaceful atmosphere, especially the snow-capped Osorno Volcano. The 8,700-foot conical land mass is situated at the shore of the Llanquihue Lake and closely resembles Japan's Mount Fuji. A similar view can be found at Lake Esmerelda.

Looking onto ground-level attractions, however, tourists will find sites like Petrohué River, which features catwalks that lead the way to a cascading waterfall. Located in the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, visitors can stop at any point along the rushing water to see the blue waves crash over the basaltic lava rock formations – a picturesque image worthy of gracing the back of a postcard.

Discover the tranquil sites of Tobago

There is no greater feeling during one's yoga meditation practice than when you rise up from your pose to see the natural beauty of the beach lying ahead. The turquoise waves crashing upon the white-sand shore provide the perfectly subdued soundtrack to the journey of spiritual growth – and such a sight can be found in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

On the island of Tobago, there lies the dormant community of Scarborough. Cultural exploration in Salvador, Brazil

In order to grow mentally and spiritually, it is important to learn about and immerse one's self in other cultures to gain newfound respect that will aid in one's personal development. There are many places around the world where one can find these life-changing experiences, particularly in Brazil, where the city of Salvador encompasses the diversity of European, African and indigenous people.

Pelourinho, deemed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is a major historical attraction in Salvador. The museums and 17th-century churches, residences and other buildings give travelers a glimpse into the Portuguese past, offering perspective on the "how" and "why" of modern Brazilian society.

The city is also popular with fans of architecture, as it holds the largest collection of Baroque-era buildings in Latin America. From the beautiful Cathedral of Salvador, which features gilded columns and an enormous sculpture of Jesus Christ, to the Sao Francisco Church and the Church of our Lord of Bonfim, there are plenty of impressively designed structures for visitors to appreciate.

For a look into how African culture has influenced Brazil, tourists should consider a visit to Museu Afro-Brasiliero or the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosario dos Pretos – an African-built church for free and enslaved black people during colonial times.

Practice tai chi on Papohaku Beach in Hawaii

One of the best places to do Dahn Yoga tai chi is on a remote beach, where there is nothing but the sound of the waves providing the soundtrack to your practice. Those who are visiting Hawaii may want to check out the island of Molokai, where the beautiful Papohaku Beach stretches for miles along the coast.

Cozy up to the white sand and warm breeze as you take a stroll along the oceanfront, which is inhabited only by crustaceans and sea birds. Papohaku is not an especially popular tourist destination, which makes it perfect for those who are simply trying to find a quiet area to spend their leisure time.

While the isolated beach is a great spot for yoga and tai chi, visitors can also bring out their adventurous side by going swimming, snorkeling, bodysurfing, body boarding or surfing, which are all activities that are offered by professional instructors in the area.

"This is the beach where you leave your troubles behind and get away from the world," says Best Beaches Hawaii. "The only footprints in the sand may be your own."

Take a walk through Hawaii’s Allerton Garden

Relaxing under the leaves of a tall palm tree on a stretch of white sand in Kauai may sound like the perfect scene for practicing breathing exercises, but travelers can venture further into the Hawaiian landscape to find Allerton Garden. The vivacious botanical garden is found on the Kauai's southern coast.

The tropical nature facility was once the living space of Queen Emma, who ruled the island between 1856 and 1863. The actual building she called home has been moved to the valley for public visitation and the remaining land was later purchased by Robert Allerton, who designed the current garden's structure.

Allerton Garden is also known as the National Tropical Botanical Garden. Guests can sit among the many native Hawaiian plants that line the garden walls, as well as various types of greenery from Asia and other Pacific islands. There are also beautiful pools, waterfalls and fountains to see and multiple statues that sit among a bevy of colorful flowers.

Polihale State Park is a remote area perfect for relaxation

Hawaii is the perfect destination for travelers who are searching for peaceful and scenic places to spend their vacations. Not only are there phenomenal views at every turn, but if they look hard enough, visitors can find isolated areas that are far from the crowded tourist traps.

Polihale State Park is a great example of a place to relax and practice Dahn Yoga breathing exercises. It is located on the island of Kauai and is a very remote area, as it cannot be accessed with a typical car due to its tough sugarcane roads. This should come as reassurance to travelers that there will be no traffic spoiling their personal experience.

One thing that guests should keep in mind is that the area is considered a "wild beach," which means that the waters are not safe for swimming. The only non-hazardous area where anyone is allowed to wade is at Queen's Pond, which is a beautiful area that offers incredible views of the Na Pali Coast mountain range.

The Polihale State Park is best experienced by absorbing the sun's refreshing warmth on the sand.
